Either one of them is all-you-can-eat; you just have to choose which one is better for you.
The sugary yum looks so inviting, but you know if that’s all you eat, eventually you will get sick. Now, the grimacing faces aren’t so inviting, but some of it is worth trying; you could eventually acquire a taste for all of it. Also, you know it’s good for you and it will make you healthy.
So, the obvious choice is to sit on the fence and eat from both sides.
By doing this, you get to eat all the good and healthy you want, and when some sweet mouth-watering yummy comes along you can just dive right in.
Whether Christians want to admit it or not, that’s where most them sit, “on the fence.” Here’s what God has to say about being on the fence, "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!" (Rev.3:15)
Trying to be a Christian is not an easy task when you have the world at you fingertips. The world is full of excitement, because Satan, "the prince of this world" (Jn.12:31, Jn.16:11), will make anything look fun and exciting to keep you away from God.
At first glance, most people think you have to give up “the good life” to be a Christian. What is “the good life”? Everything you seek to make “the good life” good only lasts for awhile and then you’re looking for the next “bigger, better” one to make “the good life” good again, and on and on it goes.
Here is an example of the change you are afraid to make:
THE GOD LIFE THE GOOD LIFE
Everlasting life Life in the fast lane
Love One night stand
Holy Spirit Spirits (Drugs, Alcohol)
Bible Television
Human Humanism
These excitements of the world will not last forever. The bible says, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal" (Matt.6:19) "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away" (Rev.21:1)
Everything you have that belongs to the world, is just that, it belongs to the world. “The good life” belongs to this world and you don’t have to give it up. It’s a change of your perception of what is good, and when you except Jesus Christ into your heart the change will begin. As you read your bible and talk to God, it will just come naturally. All the “good” you want, will be broccoli and brussel sprouts. Because you know this is from God and it will give you a healthy life.
