Those People

Today, i found myself humbled. I served communion after the service which seemed to be titled "Those People". A couple of ladies came up and asked a question, "Are you dressed that way to represent 'those people'?" My response was, "I truly am 'those people'."

Now to catch you up on the service, "those people" are
people who are frowned upon by society, generally judged by appearance, a comment, or behavior. Being a biker, I have often found myself classified as "those people". The service was about how we, as a church, should be inviting "those people" to our dinner table to show them the love of Christ just as Christ invited them to accompany Him at His.

One thing about our church is that most of the staff are "those people" and they show the very love of Christ to those who consider themselves to be the common people of society. The part that humbled me was after communion when these same people came up to me for prayer and spilled their guts about their lives. The Lord never fails in making my hard image melt for these people. It actually has come to the point that I get more fulfillment from praying for people than anything else, and the kicker is to see the Lord work in their lives.

I have actually been hunted down on different occasions by the people that I have prayed with for them to share their praise reports with me. This is a huge encouragement to me because no matter how much life begins to stress me due to daily problems, I know everything is going to be alright as long as I serve the true and living God.

I see my God move in peoples' lives every week to the point that I am stumped when people say that there is no way God exists. I encourage non-believers to hang out with me for one month and see if they can say that anymore. For most, it does not even take that long. God is very alive and the answer is Jesus.

I wanted to share a poem I came across today:

EVERYTHING

As I awoke to the beginning of a brand new day,
It seemed like waves of trials kept coming my way.
Problem after problem was all I could see,
I cried out, "Lord, what is it you want from me?"

The answer that came from the One Most High,
Was nothing but a very simple reply,
It was one unexpected, but yet rang so true,
It's something He desires from me and from you.

He said, "EVERYTHING"

"I want you to know Me as your Savior and Guide,
The One who will always be right there at your side.
I want you to serve Me through the good times and bad,
To sing praises to My Name whether you're happy or sad.

I want your faith to grow stronger as each day goes by,
To trust Me when there's no answers to your questions of 'Why?'
To learn of My love and to feel My embrace,
When you're called to endure the hardships you face.

I want no one or nothing to take My place in your heart,
In whatever you should do, I want to take part.
Stand on My promises, let nothing cause you doubt,
In the end you will see that all things will work out.

So you see, My dear child, I want to be your All in All,
To depend on My presence when you stand or when you fall,
When you question just what is it that I want from thee?
My answer is EVERYTHING, as you are EVERYTHING to Me."
